NZSN Position Statement on Drug Testing in Schools

  • 2 June 2019

Drug Testing in Schools has often been contentious. A nurses responsibility to work within their professional code of conduct often conflicts with the schools responsibility to provide a safe environment for students.

This position statement, released June 2019, offers clarity for both Schools and Nurses, and we urge all involved to carefully consider the content to best support students.

Although not specifically related to School Drug Testing, we recommend this video which offers more information on the reliability of drug testing.
