Christchurch based Student Nurse seeks Youth Health exposure

Kia Ora All!
I’m a year 3 nursing student in Canterbury, I’m graduating in November and am very passionate about youth health/mental health nursing with a community focus.
Currently, our degree does not offer any high school placements. Are you able to help me to get an exposure day somewhere potentially? Any advice on the pathway I should take to get into high school nursing would also be gratefully received.

Sofie there certainly are opportunities for high school placements in you third year. Please speak to you tutors for this info. We regularly have 3rd year students with us, as does Public Health Nursing I understand.

Hi Jennifer thank you , I have already asked and unfortunately they were unable to offer this for us , whether it’s just this semester or they have stopped altogether . Thanks for the reply :)
